Summary: Coaching your employees for success takes planning, patience and persistence.

You rely on your employees (people) to get their job done effectively, efficiently and courteously.  You get more sleep at night knowing your people are doing the best they can for you each and every day. What…you are not experience this? Why not?

To be truthful, this takes some planning, patience and persistence.

Planning. You need to plan your training and coaching. How will you train? How will you coach? What is the end result? What is the best way to deliver the training or coaching? Answering these questions will set the foundation for your plan.

Patience. This is patience on your part – everyone learns at a different pace. Some will catch on quickly and you are trying to keep up. Others will take longer and you will wonder if they will ever learn – the good news is when they do, they have it!

Persistence.  Don’t give up if you believe they can be coached. You may have to try a slightly different approach to find what works for them. Remember, repeating it the same way over and over again won’t help you or them.

This will put you on the road to success. When your people learn the business the way you want them to, execute their tasks the best way possible and treat your customers like rock stars – your business will be a success. You can then focus on what needs to be done to keep your business moving in the right direction.
